Hi,
I would like to know how to stop members from adding their contact information to the message text box, easy text box, comment text box. for instance i want it to say error or reject member whenever their add email, phone number or address to any text box. it will reject them and ask them to remove their contact information before their sending can go through.
Thanks</p><p>Ed said:<br /><div class="ugc"><p>What good is it if you have a website that people can contact others and not pay for services, It cost too much as it is to keep a site going, so no contact information should be allowed unless an admin approves it first.

If there was a way to implement a central email template or header image that would be great and make the emails look professional. </p><p>Ed said:<br /><div class="ugc"><p>Custom emails should be set up where admin can send custom email to specific members, not just in mass mail. [updated]<p>In most cases I wish profile was not assigned a number for membership. I wish there was a pending feature that assigned a profile number after profile was reviewed. This would allow the admin to reject membership without screwing up the accounting of memberships that are accepted. Bottom line is memberships should be pending before a membership number is assigned and a email should be allowed to be sent by the admin to member who wishes to join in the event the admin requires profile changes before membership is accepted. I have several members using the same photo of other members, which I would like to stop. As well as force members to be more honest.</p><p>Ed said:<br /><div class="ugc"><p>I agree that a membership number should not be appled to new people registering until after they have beeb approved by the admin. I also find people using the same photo over and over from other members, as well as creating multiple accounts with a slight varieation in user name.</p>
<p>Profiles need a pending aspect before a membership number is applied, to allow admin to accept or reject profile being a member.
<br />There needs to be a feature that allows admin to reject memberships with a custom email that can be sent to rejected member explaining reason for rejection of membership.</p></div></p>Edtag:suggest.skadate.com,2008-02-07:Event/104192372011-12-18T17:25:11-08:002011-12-18T17:25:11-08:00restrict website links used in profile headline [updated]<p>On my site I find members using website links in profile headline, which should be not allowed. I don't mind provideing free blogs, however I thinks a time frame and amount of blogs being posted are critical. I feel member can post blogs but not more than 4 in 48 hours. Also Blogs need a captcha added to them
Admin should also Have the ablilty to control a time frame for how long blogs remain on website, then admin can delete blogs in bulk after 180 days or what ever at the admins descrestion. Keeping a website fresh is important.
Currently there are no admin controls to have blog or tags content pending approval from admin. Nor is there controls to limit usage per hour or quanity of blogs being posted. Due to this issue I have been hit with spammers posting over 1000 blogs per hour with repeated content in the blogs.
Admin needs controls to remove and ban tags from being used.
Google just about blacklisted my site before I found out what was happening. thus I had to remove total blog usage from my site because of spammers posting blogs,
There are allot of core improvements that need to be done to provide more admin contols over entire site. Even if you have a subscriber there are no limit controls that can be placed on blogs (such as time, quanity or days duration when blogs can be posted and auto removal/ experation time.</p>Edtag:suggest.skadate.com,2008-02-07:Event/104192192011-12-18T17:11:48-08:002011-12-18T17:11:48-08:00skadate seo ! Developers like me want time to build the site on a private platform, and then put it live. having to pay for a license up front severely inhibits our ability to run in a development environment to fully evaluate the software for our needs, and the demos just don't cut it for serious developers because we can't get to the meat of the backend to test it's full potential (run it through the ringer, so to speak)</p>Michael Phelpstag:suggest.skadate.com,2008-02-07:Event/104013712011-12-14T15:42:31-08:002011-12-14T15:42:31-08:00provide winks<p>LoveSail suggested:<br />I have paying and non-paying members, so it would be nice for the paying members to send a wink (pre-determined so no contact details are added) to non-paying members. First, all these features should require a captcha verification before the post is made. Spammers are using automation to write posts/commets throughout the website. A captcha verification can significantly reduce this.
Second, links in posts/comments should have the "no follow" tag. Spammers are using the website for backlinking purposes. We don't want our website to pass on link juice to other irrelevant websites which may harm our google page rank and SERP. If one spammer finds out our website links or "do follow", then the spammer will let other spammers know about this and cause more spammers to come on to our website. The "no follow" tag is necessary to prevent spammers. Many skadate clients want improved SEO so this would also help.
Just for good measure, links should also have the target="_blank". When a member clicks on a link we don't want them to leave our dating website, rather have the link open in a new tab or window.</p><p>sc said:<br /><div class="ugc"><p>Hey, yeah that is correct. Here are the new features I would like to see in the next version of Skadate
1) Registration on the site via
Facebook Connect
Twitter Connect
2) New themes
3) In admin panel you can see the IP addresses of the members but I think it could be that the IP address is clickable and leads a worm detection site IP address as http://network-tools.com/
4) Include the form of invitation of friends (Open Inviter) in the registration form as Facebook with the possibility of forcing members to invite their friends to complete the registration
it would increase it many new members on the site
5) Put a chat (messenger) would be more like Facebook and members can use the site without having to stay on top of the cat
6) Site language identification by IP address
Fast choice of a site language version by IP, user OS settings/ System does it automatically and adds a country flag to a language name on the index page. Users can change language any time if it's wrong.

When a member clicks on a link we don't want them to leave our dating website, rather have the link open in a new tab or window.</p><p>newbie said:<br /><div class="ugc"><p>Holy Crap, I just noticed that too now, your demo is full of spammers. If you're trying to sell a dating script, having spammers on your demo is bad marketing/publicity. This is the same issue us Skadate users are having.</p>
<p>Regarding making the links "no follow". It would be nice if the admins can have the option to only allow paid members to put links. It'll help with marketing our website and better avoid spamming.</p></div></p>newbietag:suggest.skadate.com,2008-02-07:Event/102996712011-11-26T05:58:33-08:002011-11-26T05:58:33-08:00Help Fight Spam [updated]<p>The comments, blogs and forum posts needs improvements to fight spam. <br />From my SEO knowledge meta title and content and keywords , and unique content has a great importance for a good internal structure SEO. In order to make a good SEO you need to have an strong internal seo, a build in seo platform , like for example is magento for ecommerce. A platform which automatically creates meta titles, meta description and keywords based url's and which automatically creates meta titles and meta description based on the members added available info. Photo tagging and using that info for photos would be realy good also. </p>
<p>IRENE - please look into newbie suggestions from 2-nd page( as they haven't been answered yet) and pls look for a way to implement those as soon as possible. We are waiting fro your answer. Thx</p>
<p>"
<br />- Also the member profile page needs a unique meta description as well, we should use the members "in my own words" text as the description because their own words will be unique and avoid duplicate meta descriptions.
<br />- page titles and meta descriptions
<br />- URLs. We need to make the URLs SEO friendly by adding keywords into them. </p>
<p>TO some things up...we need unique page titles and meta decriptions for all pages created by members as well as SEO friendly URLs. "</p>

1) In admin area one more option to enable/disable bridge between default chat (members/chat) and shoubox , so chat can become one piece and for those who dont want it - they can leave it seperated as it is now.
2) chat should be more fancy, with some kind of effects during sending msg (greyed), receiving and similar. Also should have more ajax regarding messages which should be cleared (after xx minutes/lines), so we dont need to refresh site so those "old" messages disapear.
3) Possibility to make filters in shoubox (disable links and certain words)
this three affects both normal and shoutbox chat.

[updated]<p>Let's add cool pictures that prospective member's click instead of radio buttons & check boxes in the Sign Up process. This will make the Sign Up pages 'easy on the eye' and the new feature will minimize the number of members dropping out of the 'catch page'.</p><p>newbie said:<br /><div class="ugc"><p>I agree with SC, we need to simplify the sign-up process. I am noticing a lot of dating sites are easing the registration process for a user to become a member quickly. Obviously, through the admin panel we can control the required fields. What we need to have is a reminder for the member to complete the remainder of their profile once registered with a "percentage of profile completed" on the member's profile.</p></div></p>newbie
