Chat Room restricted to certain group
I would like to be able to restrict the access to chat rooms to certain groups. This can be helpful for a more adult atmosphere and also for special interest groups, sailing for example.

Something like that, yes. What you say implies that each new group will automatically get a private chat room. But what I mean is, when creating a new chat room in the admin panel I have the option to make it private for a certain group. People that are not member of this group would not be able to enter the chat room. Even better they would not even see it in the list. This would also be a good solution for the admins and moderators to have a private chat in order to discuss internal things.
The issue with private chat rooms which other people can see but not enter is, that people think the members in the chat talk about them. The other issue is that people might impute an elitist feeling to the group members.
I don't need chat rooms for *all* groups. This would give us too many unused rooms.
