  This is definitely a plus, as most of the big dating and social networking sites have already implemented location services either via Google or Microsoft/Bing. It seems the "fear" of people being stalked has gone now that everyone is used to it.

  Can this be added also for the events section?

  like this:
  Google Maps for Events - map for this modification displays in 4 places: Homepage (all or upcoming events), Event's page, User Event creation page and Admin Event creation page (admin and user can point exact location and zoom just on the map with one mouse click).

  This also would be an awesome feature in the events section, showing the location of the even along with the profile location of users attending I am going to vote for this feature too! Can it be added to the events area also?

  Its been over 1 year Since Admin Tim has said anything and nothing has been done about this feature yet? Does Skadate not like this Idea?

  I agree! Boonex currently uses the google map feature for free for their system.
  I find it funny free open source has that option and Skadate doesn not. I think that should be fixed and resolved to where we have that function

  This feature should be extended to include members who would like to Represent A Country with a small image flag. For example, Member A live in the USA but would like to Represent the UK cause he was born there( in the UK) or has family connections. Member A can still choose to Represent the country he/she is currently living. This feature is very important cause there are lots of members who live in one Country but would like to Represent another country to which he/she was borne or have family or business connections. Generally, people like to Represent their country / culture

  Fantastic idea - would be great for people on a festival or people going out at night to see if there are any matches nearby. A mobile application would probably needed to get this done, and make use of google maps.

  As I see in the database the coordinates of all the places are already there, so I guess something like a "Mapping"-component could be done without major rework. It would be great if one could choose what mapping service to use.
  Maps could possibly be placed on a user's profile, on a user's "neighbours"-page, in the search results and probably at other places..
  On the other hand it could also look like a "stalker-feature" and is known from various porn-ads..

  sounds good but how about something that is more visible like a dot with flashing light... the flashing light is very common to show members who are online now

  You can easily embed this feature with a code. It's not really necessary :( especially that most members list their state on their profiles.
