Ability to send emails to users within the site
In addition to sending mass emails to users personal email addresses, I would like the ability to send users messages to their user profile within the site. Maybe you could set it up so that whoever is set up as a site moderator can mass message users within the site.
We think this is a good idea. It has been added to ‘planned’ features.

Dear Easton,
Let me explain how we process suggestions.
So, even if a suggestion gets more than 10 votes, it does not mean that it will be automatically implemented. But it does mean that all suggestions with the number of votes more than 10 get carefully studied and evaluated by us. We take a decision on whether to add a suggested feature to a software build or not basing on the modification complicity, number of votes, its urgency and practicability.
The suggestions with the number of votes less than 10 are read through by the forum administrators, and only the most interesting and sensible of them will also be given evaluation.
You can find more details on this here http://www.skalfa.com/press/how-we-process-skadate-feature-suggestions.html

It is interesting that this feature suggestion has 19 votes but yet been set for planned implementation but Home Page feature suggestion has over 24 votes but you are saying still need more votes..... you guys are playing games and cherry picking the easy feature for implementation

Yes, I think so.
And the optional email notification about new messages in mailbox is already there in preferences at homepage.

So it would work best if admin mass-mailing went to user mailboxes and there was an optional email notification about new messages in mailbox?

Hi Emil,
When members receive an email message within the site, they will get a notification on their actual email-adress too (if they choose for that in preferences). ;-)
And ... we have many members that prefere not to receive all those mails (even match mails) on their personal emailadress. They prefere to check the site from time to time (and switch the option off in "preferences").

Quite sensible suggestion. However what's the way to get long-time users to return to the website if you do not deliver an actual email message to them?

I believe this feature will also make any site more independent and vibrant. Members would be able to keep their lives outside of the community seperate. Whenever one member is interested in another, there wouldn't be the usual e-mail address search, or even the exchange of addresses. Each member's "e-mail" address could be the same as their membership number or something to that effect. Of course if this feature became a reality, you would also have to give members the option as to whether or not they would want to display their address.

It's also a solution for problems with mass-mailing. If you want to send 2.000 mails, you might have problems with your mail-server. If you can do this within the site, there are no problems.
And ... I think this is not much programming ... ;-)

Great suggestion, this will ensure that members get Admin's Important messages when member sign in..... currently mostly Mass Email messages are going to Junk Mails
