Authenticate photos in profiles
This is a suggestion that quite a few of our users have asked for...The possibility for the admin to verify ( authenticate ) the photos in the user profiles so that they can be sure that it is really that user's photo and NOT a photo taken anywhere on the net...especially when the users in question do not want to be on webcam on the site ( a lot of times because they hate being on webcam )...
Some users put photos in their profile BUT nothing says it's really them...Those who will accept to be authenticated, the words USER AUTHENTICATED will appear in their profile and the other users will know for sure who they are talking to and show more interest and less doubt...
In the admin page, there should be a place where we could check the words USER AUTHENTICATED when it is done...under MARK PROFILE AS FEATURED would be a great place ( just an example ) in the PROFILE SUMMARY...
I think that on a website like ours where people want to meet each other, it is important for the users to know who they will meet...This would be a good way for them to be sure of who they choose to meet...
This feature has been marked as ‘planned’. We will add it in one of the upcoming builds.

Dear mizdez,
Thank you. We will take your note into account.

Twitter has this in place: http://twitter.com/help/verified and IDEALLY the icon should be implemented within the profile (as a field) not as part of an image since that can be easily duplicated.

Great idea (I believe myspace and twitter does this currently and very well might I add)

Dear Easton,
Your comment is not related to photo authentication. It is more of a copyright matter. I'd rather recommend you to create a separate suggestion on this subject.

Oh, let me add that the photo verification will be an optional feature for the Site Administrator.

We have decided to add the 'photo authenticate' feature to SkaDate. It will work the following way:
Every time a new member registers on your website the system will generate a unique code for this particular user. Then, on the photo upload page the member will see a notification where he will be suggested to take a photo of self holding a paper with the unique code written. This way the Site Administrator will be able to identify that the person on the picture is the same newly-registered member. The member's photo with a unique code will not be displayed in his profile, and will be visible only to the site Administrator in the Admin Panel. After a member passes verification, the site Admin will be able to manually mark his photos (the ones he selects) as 'Authenticated photo'. These photos will then appear on the site with a special mark indicating that they are genuine. -

In Germany we have a system called "Post Ident", where you have to go to a post office, show your face and ID-card. The shopman has to fill in some details of the card into a form and confirm that it is really you who is standing in front of him. This form goes to the company that requested the identification verification. Regarding your blog, would you mind to give me the link where you need feedback from us?

Hi.
We were negotiating about partnership with a couple of companies which offer this kind of services. We posted about it on our blog and in the former customer forum and didn't get customers' support. If you think that you need this kind of third party services than submit your feedback. -

I would rather like to authenticate people by their passport. But anyway we need a marker on the profile, where we can set a profile to be authenticated. I would prefer a smart icon in the profile instead of a text. (Mouseover could give an explanation though)
